The story

Below the city of light

Far beneath the gleaming towers of Zenith lies Deepwell: a vertical slum of neon, rust and rain, run by gangs and watched by Solace Industries, the corporation that owns everything and everyone.

Once a month, Solace holds Lift Day. A lottery. The winners ride the colossal space elevator into orbit to start a new life far from the undercity. Everybody watches. Everybody hopes.

Fourteen months ago, Tomas Reyes watched his mother win. Her messages from orbit came for a while. Then they stopped. Now the words in the last one don't sound like her at all.

Tomas is done waiting. With a crew of his own, he's going to find out what really happens to the people the Lift takes away, even if he has to fight his way through every gang, every Solace patrol and every floor of their tower to get there.

"Nobody comes back from the Lift. They just send messages."

What you'll do

Fight together. Loot everything.

A fast top-down twin-stick shooter with real RPG depth, built for friends. Play solo, or team up online with up to three others.

01

Co-op first

1–4 players online. Invite friends through Epic or share a join code: no port forwarding, no hassle. Revive each other, combine abilities, share the fight.

02

Four classes

Assault, Medic, Tank or Engineer. Each has its own weapons, stats, skill and grenade. A mixed squad is far stronger than four of the same.

03

Combos that matter

Stun a crowd, then frag it. Smoke and shield the team while the medic heals. Electrify the water they're standing in. Teamwork pays off in damage, survival and loot.

04

Loot & sets

Weapons, armour and cyberware in rarities up to Prototype. Collect class sets for powerful bonuses and a visible set aura. Stronger enemies drop better gear.

05

Smart enemies

Gangs that take cover, flank you and fall back when they break. Tougher leaders that take real effort. Explosive barrels and burning wrecks you can turn against them.

06

Built to challenge

Scale the difficulty from 100% to 1000% for tougher enemies and bigger rewards. Master each weapon type over 30 mastery levels. Hunt roaming world bosses for guaranteed set items.

Choose your role

Four classes, one crew

Every class has its own weapons, base stats, a special skill on Q and a grenade on G. Pick the role that fits you, or bring all four.

Damage

Assault

The front-line gunner: the highest weapon damage and the fastest reloads.

  • Q: Sentry Turret, an auto-turret that draws enemy fire
  • G: Frag grenade
  • Weapons: heavy pistol, burst & assault rifles, pump shotgun
Support

Medic

Keeps the crew standing: quick on their feet, fast revives from range.

  • Q: Triage Field, a healing zone with six charges
  • G: Nanite smoke: blinds enemies, restores armour
  • Weapons: light pistol, burst carbine, SMG, semi-auto shotgun
Defence

Tank

Takes the hits so others don't: the most health and armour, and enemies want him first.

  • Q: Aegis Dome, a hex-hologram shield that stops bullets
  • G: Incendiary grenade: area denial
  • Weapons: revolver, battle rifle, heavy rifle, auto shotgun
Control

Engineer

Sets up the kill: faster cooldowns and tech that controls the battlefield.

  • Q: Swarm Launcher, lock-on rockets (up to six)
  • G: Stun grenade (EMP)
  • Weapons: machine pistol, marksman rifle, compact rifle, double-barrel

The world

Every layer hides something

Hand-built districts stacked on top of each other: dense, wet, loud and full of secrets. Explore side routes, find hidden caches and unlock shortcuts as you go.

Intro

Lift Day

A game that keeps growing

Built to last

Deepwell Rising is a living game. It is in active development today and will keep growing long after launch, with new districts, enemies, bosses, gear and end-game modes.

Free to play, fair to play

The full game is free. We earn from optional extras in the shop (character skins, visual effects for skills and a permanent XP boost) and the Supporter Edition.

Your difficulty, your rules

The difficulty slider goes from 100% up to 1000%. Every step makes enemies tougher and the rewards richer, so the game stays a challenge for as long as you want it to.

Several end-games

Climb the 100-floor Solace Spire for loot and clear-time rankings, hunt roaming Nemesis world bosses, and push your build at higher difficulties. More end-game modes are planned.

Always in development

What you see today is a work in progress. Systems, areas and visuals keep improving with every update, shaped by the people who play it.

Support the development

Supporter Edition

Want to back Deepwell Rising from the start? The Supporter Edition gives you a head start in style and helps a small team keep building.

  • Exclusive Supporter skin: a unique look only Supporter Edition owners will ever have.
